Mum and Baby Yoga
Suitable from 6 weeks after the baby’s birth (8 weeks after a C Section) right up until your little one starts to crawl. The class is a fun way to bond with your baby and a great way to return to safe and effective exercise. The sessions are also a great way to meet other new mums who live locally.

For mum there are specially adapted sun salutation and standing postures and postnatal recovery postures which restore the uterus, abdomen and pelvic floor muscles, realign the spine and relieve shoulder, neck and back discomfort. We will also provide you with specific exercises if you have Diastasis Recti (separated abdominal muscles).

The Baby Yoga movements for the little ones are incorporated into songs and nursery rhythms and have many benefits which are detailed below.

  • Develops balance helping sitting, crawling and walking.
  • Stretches the chest allowing baby to breath more deeply.
  • Opens the hip and knees joints and keeps them flexible.

  • Helps prevent and relieve colic and constipation.
  • Strengthens the immune system.
  • Helps to settle babies and improve sleep patterns.
  • Tactile stimulation contributes to the development of the brain and nervous system.
  • The use of songs encourages language developement and keeps baby engaged.
  • The baby learns to interact with others and play actively.

    Once your booking on a YTL class has been confirmed you become a member of YTL and benefit from having access to useful information and handouts.

    Class Time, Location and Equipment
    All our Mum and Baby Yoga classes are offered in the afternoon and located near to good transport links so they are easy for you to get to.

    We believe you already have enough to carry; yourself and baby so all the equipment needed for class is provided.
